Painting – oil on canvas
Alexandra Teaca is the author of several hundred paintings in oil on canvas, watercolor or pencil graphics, grouped on different themes and projects. Her paintings highlight certain truths or feelings, which are expressed by forms and colors, but also by the presence of the imaginary worlds, still undiscovered, offering the possibility of revealing the human interior and sensibility.
Her artworks are on the boundary between the figurative and the non-figurative painting, attempting to search for essences, to explore the human interior by using a new abstract language, built of curved lines, color spots, irregular surfaces, or by the contrary, by pure geometric shapes capable to express certain emotions and soul experiences.
„Painting is not only the expression of images of the reality experienced, but also a way of escape from reality, of creating imaginary worlds capable of dialogue in time, of producing effects in the future or of revealing certain sequences of the past. Without painting, mankind would be deprived not only of information baggage or the tumultuous images of history, but also of pure expression from the souls of artists, the only ones able to recreate the world through their works. ” Alexandra Teaca
The paintings with landscapes impress by their warm and fine touches of colors, which overlap and create a special atmosphere of brightness and dynamism of the represented place.
„The author makes us understand that her pictorial artwork, even if it is done in another time, can still be stylistically classified in the valuable tradition of inter-war Romanian painting, a tradition to which a significant contribution have made major names of Romanian architecture, such as Gheorghe Simota and G.M. Cantacuzino”.
